Saskatchewan Racquetball Association congratulates Lee Connell on an impressive 5th place finish in both Men’s Open Singles and Doubles at the 2025 National Championships.

In singles, Lee entered as the 6th seed and battled through a tough draw. He was defeated in the quarterfinals by Ontario’s Trevor Webb (11-5, 4-11, 6-11, 3-11), but bounced back in the consolation bracket. He edged out Leyton Gouldie of Brandon in a five-game thriller (11-8, 9-11, 11-8, 7-11, 11-5), then overcame Nathan Jauvin of Terrebonne in four games (11-13, 11-2, 11-6, 11-7) to secure 5th place.

In doubles, Lee teamed up with Mitch Brayley of Calgary. They fell in the quarterfinals to silver medallists Asher Pocsai and Gouldie (11-7, 13-11, 11-13, 11-8), but closed out with a hard-fought win over Nathan Jauvin and Michel Leduc in the consolation final (15-13, 11-13, 11-6, 16-14).

SRA would also like to thank Coach Tim Landeryou for his dedication in supporting Lee’s preparation and for his courtside coaching throughout the tournament.

Bruce Robinson of Regina also had a standout performance, winning gold in Men’s 65+ Doubles with Steve Hendry of Victoria after going undefeated in round-robin play. Bruce added a silver medal in Men’s 70+ Singles to cap off a successful event.

More than 120 athletes from across the country competed at the 2025 National Championships, held May 18–24 at Cedar Springs Racquet, Health & Sports Club in Burlington, Ontario. The event brought together junior, elite, and masters athletes, creating an exciting and inclusive championship atmosphere.

Racquetball Ontario will once again host the 2026 Nationals at the same venue. SRA extends its thanks to Racquetball Canada and the host committee for their outstanding hospitality throughout the week.
