Saskatchewan racquetball athletes returned home from the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto with a lot to be proud of, and the proof hanging from their necks. Tim Landeryou (Saskatoon) and Christine Richardson (Regina) brought 3 Bronze medals back to the province from the event, which is the best ever medal haul for SK racquetball athletes at a Pan American Games!
Landeryou brought home two of the Bronze medals. The first in Men’s Doubles where he and partner Vincent Gagnon went undefeated in the preliminary rounds before falling to Bolivia in the semi-finals. The second came in the Men’s Team competition by defeating the Dominican Republic in the quarter-finals before falling to the USA in the semis.
Richardson’s Bronze medal came in Women’s Team Competition by upsetting #2 seeded Argentina in the quarter-finals before also losing to the USA in the semi-finals.
We are extremely proud of both these athletes and wish them more success next season. Below are two articles written about SK athletes at the 2015 Pan American Games.
