The inaugural U of S Fall Racquetball Tournament concluded Saturday afternoon and while it was a small contingent that participated, there was a disproportionate level of fun at the event based on its size.
Lee Connell (Saskatoon) defeated Chris Exner (Saskatoon) in the singles final 15-3, 15-11 to win his second provincial tournament title this season following his victory at the Saskatoon Open earlier this month. A small doubles draw was also formed, which saw the brother and sister duo of Tanner and Cassie Prentice (Macrorie) take first over Greg Calette and Eric Gerwing (Saskatoon). Calette also defeated Gerwing in singles for the consolation title. A link to full tournament results can be found at the bottom of this post.
First time tournament director James Landeryou considered the event the first step in building what will hopefully blossom into a positive relationship between the SRA and University of Saskatchewan. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the event, and a special thank you to Brad Birnie for working with the U of S to organize the tournament.
