The Saskatoon Classic event wrapped up Saturday evening, with second-seeded Lee Connell (Saskatoon) upsetting first seed Nathaniel Husulak (Saskatoon) in a hard-fought tiebreaker. After dropping the first game by the narrowest of margins 15-17, Connell regrouped to take the second 15-9, and then fought off an early lead by Nathaniel in the tiebreaker, tying the game late, and utilizing great shot-making and garnering a couple of fortunate bounces down the stretch to finally seal the deal. Congratulations to Lee on the win, and both players for providing an excellent and entertaining final. Check out the tournament page for full results from the event.
In other news, registration is now open for both the Junior and Senior Provincial Championships. These will be the last 2 events to determine the Junior and Senior Provincial Teams that Saskatchewan sends to their respective National Championships later this season. The Senior Provincials will also have age and skill divisions for those not wishing to compete for a spot on the Open Provincial Team.
